Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Serengeti Rentals ("we", "us", "our") is a Missouri limited liability company operating a motor-vehicle and watercraft rental business at 15209 Red Hollow Road Lot 71, Gravois Mills MO 64037. You can reach us at 573-647-4073 or rangie80@gmail.com.

2. Using this site

When you use serengetirentals.com you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site. We may update these Terms; if we make material changes we'll post the new effective date.

3. Reservations

A reservation is not confirmed until your non-refundable booking deposit clears. We may refuse or cancel any reservation for any lawful reason, including but not limited to prior bad behavior by a renter, safety concerns, or equipment unavailability.

The balance of your rental and a refundable security-deposit hold on your credit card are collected at pickup, not online.

4. Renter requirements

  • Primary operator must be 25 or older.
  • Valid government-issued driver's license required at pickup. For the Slingshot, a standard Missouri Class E license (or out-of-state equivalent) is sufficient — no motorcycle endorsement needed because Missouri classifies the Slingshot as an autocycle.
  • For the boat, operators born after January 1, 1984 must present a Missouri Boater Safety Identification Card as required by Missouri State Water Patrol.
  • You must sign our Rental Agreement and Liability Waiver at pickup.

5. Cancellation & refunds

Deposits are refundable on this schedule measured from your reservation start:

  • 7 days or more in advance: full deposit refund.
  • 3 to 7 days in advance: 50% deposit refund.
  • Less than 72 hours in advance: no refund.

If we cancel due to dangerous weather, equipment failure, or safety concerns, you'll receive a full refund or a free reschedule at your option.

6. Damage & security deposit

At pickup we place an authorization hold on your credit card equal to the security deposit amount shown on your reservation. The hold is released at return, typically within 1–3 business days depending on your bank. Any actual damage, cleaning cost, or fee (late return, fuel, missing life jacket, etc.) is charged against the hold with photo documentation. Any amount above the hold is billed to your card on file.

7. Rules of use

  • No operation under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or other impairing substances. Missouri's BUI and DWI laws apply.
  • No off-road use of the Slingshot.
  • No more than the rated seat count, ever.
  • Closed-toe shoes required in the Slingshot.
  • Life jackets are required for all boat passengers in designated areas.
  • No smoking in or on any vehicle.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Missouri law, our total liability under or relating to these Terms or any rental will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in this section limits liability for conduct that cannot be limited as a matter of law.

9. Governing law & dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Morgan County, Missouri, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. The parties waive any right to a jury trial.
